Attendance policy
The limit on absences set by the Diocese of Metuchen is three (3) for the entire year. Phone calls and/or notes are not necessary. Parents are expected to assist their child in making up work that has been missed due to absence, and turning it in to the Catechist. When your child is not in class, he/she will be marked absent.
If your child is absent four (4) times, a warning note will be sent to you, which must be signed and returned to the child's Catechist or the DRE. Please take the time to discuss individual circumstances with Mrs. Fitzgerald (732/390-0354).
Students who miss five (5) or more classes during the year will not be assigned grades. It is unfair for any Catechist to judge a child's performance if they are missing over one-sixth of the classes.
Any family who has a child who is classified by the public school district as "chronically ill" needs to call Mrs. Fitzgerald (732/390-0354) to discuss the special circumstances and alternatives.
Any student who has chronic absences over two or more semesters will not be permitted to re-register in the program unless the family meets with the DRE.
